Pelicans in a Pod!

Pelicans are believed to have the longest bill of all living birds! Which they use to eat fish, though at times other smaller birds! They will also scavenge for scraps.

When they are catching fish they plunge dive into the water, using their bills like nets. They also gang up on the fish by herding them to shallow waters in groups! A group of pelicans is often called a 'pod'!

Pelicans enjoy hanging out in both freshwater and marine wetlands, as well as lakes, swamps and rivers. These birds can fly up to twenty four hours to find a good spot!

Personally I find these birds to be magnificent, quirky but also slightly intimidating when face to bill!
